Location South Jutland, Denmark

In the South Jutland landscape, where the wind has left its mark for generations, an old thatched longhouse from 1885 lies peacefully surrounded by forest, meadows, and open plains. The house rests naturally in its surroundings, marked by time, yet still possessing a special calm and gravitas.

Dinesen Country Home has deep roots in the Dinesen family's history and reflects the values and craftsmanship upon which the company is built. The house was carefully restored by architect Jørgen Overby in 2004 and since continued by Mentze Ottenstein, who has added new layers and atmospheres without removing what was already there.

The building’s integrity was preserved, its historic proportions reinstated, and architectural details such as doors and window frames from other period homes carefully reintroduced, allowing its essence to remain intact, and its original character to endure.

Thoughtfully chosen furnishings and objects, such as the SP faucet in polished brass, establish a subtle dialogue between eras, where heritage and contemporary life meet in gentle continuity.
