The need for a robust and maintenance-free faucet capable of withstanding heavy use led engineer and chief technician at Gentofte County Hospital, Otto Sparre-Petersen, to develop the iconic SP faucet in 1935, featuring its famous stirrup-style handle. With its classic design, organic form, and nearly indestructible quality, it has since become known as both the "industrial faucet" and the "Rolls-Royce of faucets." For this reason, it has been used worldwide for decades, from hospitals and embassies to private homes.
