Christiansborg Palace was left in ruins during the fire of 1884, but as reconstruction took shape, TONI Copenhagen (then under the name "E.O. Auchenberg") was chosen as the main supplier of sanitary fittings. This is where the name of the Christiansborg model originates. Many decades later, as part of TONI Copenhagen's relaunch of this iconic fitting in 1985, the Royal Court was once again the first to order it for Amalienborg. With its characteristic five-pronged handwheel, it was, just like back then, appreciated for its timeless, honest, and slightly poetic expression.
